Study stay authorization
The study stay authorization allows legal stay in Spain for studies, training, volunteering or approved programs, provided admission, means and insurance are documented.
Overview
Official guidance requires that the applicant is not irregularly present in Spain, has been admitted to an authorized center or program, and has sufficient financial means and health insurance.
For the in-Spain route, timing must be reviewed carefully. The official information sheet generally places filing within the two months prior to the start of the training activity.
Requirements
- Admission to an authorized educational center or valid training activity.
- Sufficient financial means; the official sheet uses 100% of the IPREM for the main applicant, 75% for the first family member and 50% for each additional one.
- Public or private health insurance covering the full stay.
- Not be in an irregular situation and not be subject to an entry ban.
Common documents
- Admission letter, enrolment or proof of the training program.
- Valid passport, official procedure form and proof of fee payment where applicable.
- Proof of financial means, health insurance and, depending on the case, a criminal record certificate or medical certificate.
